From the first free call to the written report, and what happens afterwards. Nothing here is bundled or automatic – you decide at each step.
The five steps
Free 30-minute call
You speak to a specialist about what you're experiencing and what you're hoping to find out. They'll tell you honestly whether a full assessment looks like the right next step. It costs nothing, and if the answer is no, that's a useful answer too.
Preparation before the appointment
You complete rating scales and a background questionnaire in advance. Where relevant, we ask someone who knew you as a child to complete a short form as well – developmental history matters, and memory of childhood is not always reliable from the inside.
The clinical assessment
A structured interview with one of our staff psychiatrists – DIVA-5 for ADHD, and the corresponding instruments for autism – plus a clinical conversation about how symptoms actually affect your daily functioning. This is normally done digitally over secure video, or in person if you are near one of our four locations.
Findings and written report
We go through the conclusion with you in English. You then receive the written specialist report (läkarutlåtande) within 10 working days. One 45-minute coaching session is included at no extra cost, whatever the outcome.
Treatment, if you want it
If a diagnosis is confirmed, medication and coaching are available as separate services with their own published prices. You are not committed to either by having the assessment.
Practical questions
Do I need a referral?
No. You don't need a remiss from a health centre, and you don't join a regional waiting list. You contact us directly.
What language will the assessment be in?
English, if that's what you prefer. Tell us when you get in touch so we can book you with a clinician who can carry out the assessment in English.
What language is the documentation in?
Swedish. Medical records and specialist reports in Swedish healthcare are written in Swedish – that isn't a choice we make. We go through the content with you in English, and the Swedish report is the document that Swedish employers, universities, Försäkringskassan and other healthcare providers will accept.
Do I need a Swedish personal identity number?
It depends on your situation – whether you have a personnummer, a coordination number (samordningsnummer), or neither. Contact us before booking and we'll tell you where you stand.
How does medication work afterwards?
Prescriptions are issued into the Swedish system and dispensed by a Swedish pharmacy. Medication costs fall under the Swedish high-cost threshold (högkostnadsskyddet), which caps what you pay over a 12-month period. Our own medication service is a start fee plus a monthly subscription – see prices.
Can my employer pay?
Sometimes. We work with employers on occupational health arrangements. If your company might cover it, mention that when you contact us and we'll explain the options – the Swedish-language page for employers is här.
Is any of this covered by regional healthcare?
No. This is private care that you pay for directly. The regional route exists and is free at the point of use, but waiting times are long – often measured in years for adults – and it is conducted in Swedish. Paying privately buys speed, a fixed date, and in this case a language you can actually be assessed in.
Where we work
We have premises in four cities: Gothenburg, Stockholm, Örebro and Västerås. If you are in or near one of them, you can meet us in person.
Everywhere else in Sweden, the assessment is carried out digitally over secure video. That is how most of our assessments run, and it is not a lesser version – the instruments, the clinicians and the written report are the same. We do not have premises outside those four cities, so if part of your assessment needs to happen physically we arrange that with you case by case, and tell you what it involves before you commit to anything.
