Understanding autism together

Autism is a lifelong neurodevelopmental profile that affects how people communicate, process information, perceive the world, and relate to others. Everyone is unique; some describe strong sensory sensitivity while others emphasize concentration challenges or social exhaustion from masking.

Our clinicians take time to understand your day-to-day experience, your strengths, and the obstacles you meet in work, studies, or relationships. We explain the diagnosis and co-create a picture of what would make life more sustainable.

“An autism assessment should feel like being seen — validating the adaptations you already make and opening doors to new forms of support.”

During the assessment we explore:

  • Sensory sensitivities, how you regulate them, and environments that help or overload you.
  • Communication style, social energy, masking, and fatigue.
  • Developmental history, interests, and routines that matter to you.
  • Any co-occurring diagnoses such as ADHD, anxiety, OCD, dyslexia, or dyspraxia.

We welcome people you trust when helpful and always prioritize your consent and sense of safety.

What to expect

Your autism assessment

The assessment combines structured diagnostic tools with reflective conversations. We follow your pace and explain each step beforehand so there are no surprises.

1

Preparation

After booking we invite you to complete optional questionnaires and share any accessibility needs. We confirm who will attend and ask if you want someone with you for support during the assessment.

2

Assessment interviews

Structured but flexible interviews explore your communication style, sensory sensitivities, executive functions, and wellbeing. We discuss situations where you thrive and where long-term effort or masking leads to fatigue.

  • Remote or in-person visits arranged in the environment you prefer.
3

The diagnostic process

The team summarizes your profile against diagnostic criteria, highlights your strengths, considers other possible diagnoses such as ADHD or trauma, and invites your input before any diagnosis is made.

  • Evidence-based tools, including ADOS-2 observations when appropriate.
  • Multidisciplinary review for complex needs so you get the best support.
4

Feedback & next steps

We meet to go through your results, provide a detailed report, and set concrete adaptations for studies, work, or daily life. You decide what to share and with whom.

  • Practical recommendations based on your priorities.
  • Letters for employers, universities, or accommodation applications when needed.

FAQ

Answers to common questions

If you don’t see your question here, contact us and we’ll help.

How long does an autism assessment take?

Adults usually have two longer assessment sessions over three to four weeks. Child assessments include extra meetings with caregivers or school staff to get a full picture.

Do I need to prepare anything?

We send questionnaires you can complete before your assessment. They help us build the broadest understanding of you.

Can everything be done online?

Yes. We meet via video using the same structure as in-person assessments. If an in-person observation would add value, we discuss and plan it with you.

Will the report help with accommodations?

Your report includes diagnostic conclusions, information on strengths and support needs, and recommendations for accommodations. We can also provide letters for employers, universities, or accommodation applications if needed.

What support is available afterwards?

You can continue with follow-up therapy or coaching.
